Mother of Mankind - A Progress Update on the Journey

Image
As I sit in my studio, pencil in hand, watching the "Mother of Mankind" take shape layer by layer, I'm reminded of how art mirrors life...slow, deliberate and full of revelations that emerge only with time. This progress shot captures her midway through: the contours of her form are more defined now. The shading is building, casting subtle shadows that hint at the depth of our shared history, while faint outlines of migrating paths begin to weave across the globe in her grasp. I feel like it's not just a drawing anymore; it's now a living narrative at this point, evolving as I do on this Awakening journey. Each pencil detail feels like peeling back another layer of my own understanding, questioning where we come from and what binds us beyond the surface. Mother of Mankind

Work in progress... "We are all born from the same place—the source of all humanity. Differences are adaptations, not divisions." I’m happy to share a sneak peek of my latest piece in the Awakening Series. This pencil sketch, still in progress, is already pulsing with meaning. Hi, this is KennyDanielArt. I’m an artist , a son of the soil, and a storyteller with a pencil in hand. I am Kehinde Daniel Ojo to my parents, but call me  Kenny . My art is more than pencil on paper; it’s a journey to uncover truths the world has overlooked, a way to pull back centuries of silence and let Africa’s stories breathe again. Welcome to The Awakened Artist , my blog, where I’m stepping into my calling to draw not just faces, but origins like our identity, our pride and our roots. A glimpse into the past through the lens of history Pencil on paper 2017 This isn’t just a gallery. It’s a resurrection of stories buried in texture, symbolism and soul. Let’s walk this path together. Why This Blog? For too long, the narratives of Africa have been shaped by outsiders who haven’t lived our struggles, joys, or triumphs. As an artist, I’ve drawn countless faces, capturing beauty in every line. But beauty alone isn’t enough anymore. I want my art to tell the truth, reclaim the s...
